Minneapolis police are seeking the public's help in finding three men involved in a kidnapping and sexual assault early Thursday near the University of Minnesota campus.

According to police, the incident happened about 2 a.m. Thursday when a University of Minnesota student was abducted by men in a dark green minivan near SE. 4th Street and 10th Avenue. The men sexually assaulted her as they drove and later released her in the same area, police said. On Saturday, University police issued an all-campus alert.

The suspects are black, between 25 and 30, and have short curly hair. According to police, they spoke English but also conversed in a foreign language with an East African accent. One suspect had crooked teeth and wore a red zip-up sweatshirt and blue jeans. A second suspect was unshaven with a dark blue hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and black boots. The third suspect wore a dark blue T-shirt, dark blue jeans and gray and white tennis shoes.

Anyone with information should call Minneapolis police at 612-673-TIPS.
