Twenty-seven-year-old Mo Farah, a Somali-born British international track and field athlete, who holds the British road record for 10,000 meters, the British indoor record in the 3000 meters and the British track record for 5000 meters, has said that he will run at the Commonwealth Games to be held in Delhi in October.
Farah will take on his rivals, as he believes the games will provide him with the opportunity of realizing his Olympic dream.
Farah will end his amazing track season by bidding for his second double of the year when he runs in the 5,000metres and 10,000m, the Daily Star reports.
He won gold in those events at the European Championships in Barcelona and has since broken David Moorcroft's 28-year-old 5,000m British record with his 12:57.94 in Zurich.
But October's Commonwealths will be a tough challenge, as Farah will face the might of the Africans that could include top Kenyans Eliud Kipchoge and Vincent Chepkok.
"After an amazing season, two golds in the European Championships and a new British 5,000m record, I hope to finish a fantastic summer season with another good performance in India," he said.
Farah is part of a strong English track and field team that should win a hatful of medals. It includes Olympic 400m champion Christine Ohuruogu, who returns to the championships that first made her a star in 2006 having missed the Europeans through injury.
Andy Turner and Phillips Idowu will be looking to add to their Barcelona glory in Delhi.
Triple jumper Idowu celebrated his first major outdoor title in Melbourne and should win gold again in Delhi. (ANI)
