Puntland President Appoints a Governor for Mudug Region

Galkayo, Somalia (HOL) - The President of Puntalnd Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Faroole has appointed a governor for Mudug region and as well as appointed other senior officers for the region.
In a memo signed by the President on the second of September, the President appointed Mr. Ahmed Ali Salaad as the governor of the region. The region has been without an official governor recently.
The President also appointed Colonel Ahmed Hasan Ali Afey as Puntland’s Chief of Police Forces while Colonels Mohamed Said Jaqanaf and Muse Ahmed Abdirahman were appointed first deputy and second deputy of Puntland Police Forces respectively.
The President also appointed Muse Osman Farah as the Chief of Police Forces for Mudug region while Siyad Mohamud Bi’il was appointed the Chief of Police Force for the city of Galka’yo.
The appointments the President made coincide with the recent increase of insecurity in the region where among other things a Minister in Puntland’s government was killed in the city of Galka’yo as well as the suicide of a senior Police Chief in the city of city.
