Cops to meet about Somali business threats
Monday, June 15, 2009
Police are holding a meeting on Monday afternoon with business owners in Guguletu in the Western Cape after threats were made against Somali shopkeepers.
Captain Elliot Sinyangana said Somali business owners received a letter on Saturday telling them to leave the area.
They reported the letter to the police who then organised a meeting with the Somali shopkeepers and local business owners.
The meeting will take place at 3pm on Monday.
In the meantime, no violence has been reported in the area related to this issue.
"Their [Somali shopkeepers] business is continuing as usual,"said Sinyangana.
