Director of Shabeele Radio Killed in Mogadishu

The Director of Shabeele Radio Mr. Mukhtaar Mohamed Hiraabe has been killed in the Bakaare market in Mogadishu. Also wounded in the attack is Mr. Ahmed Omar Hashi (Ahmed Taajir) who is among the reporters of the Radio as well as being a member of the Raido’s management team.

Head of the News Section of Shabeele Radio Mr. Abdirahmam Yuusuf Sheik Al-Adala confirmed the killing of the Radio’s Director but said that they do not yet have details about the killing and who is responsible for the killing.

The killing of the Director of Shabeele Radio comes not long after the Director of HornAfrik Radio Mr. Said Tahliil Ahmed was also killed by armed men is Bakaara market.

Three reporters and two Directors of Radios have been killed this year in Mogadishu some of whom have been assassinated at day time in public while others were caught in the crossfire.
