Ottawa, Canada (HOL) - Professor Ahmed M. Warfa has resigned from the position of Senior Advisor to President Sheikh Sharif.  
HOL was able to reach Prof. Warfa, who is currently in the United States.

He cited personal reason for the resignation and declined to make any further comment on the issue at this time. 

"I will continue the efforts to work with all the stakeholders at the regional and national levels of Somalia, and am confident that there will be peace and good governance for Somalia," said Prof. Warfa. He added, "I believe that any assignment is not without sacrifice, hardship, or difficulty."

President Sheikh Sharif appointed Prof Warfa as his Senior advisor on August 21, 2009. 

Qaran @ 2/19/2010 9:49 PM EST  Thank you professor Warfa for being strong and rejecting to serve a puppet government. I wish if every one surrounding Sh. Sharif could do the same. Abdullah Yusuf tried to sell Somalia to the poorest and weakest nation on earth – Ethiopia, Sh. Sharif is selling the nation to anyone – even Museveni and Kibaki want to run Somalia. No wonder Americans feel shy to talk about Somalia. It is sad that the world considers these incompetents as average Somalis. TFG is the shame of Somalia.
