ROCHESTER, MN -- It has the attention of the Pope and United Nations, now a Rochester group is hoping more people will get involved.

More than A hundred people, mostly Somali American, protested the war in Mogadishu... by marching through Bear Creek Park.

Recent battles on the streets of Mogadishu has produced an unprecedented amount of bloodshed.

Congress has threatened to take away security aid from Ethiopia if positive, democratic steps are not taken soon.

These protesters say the world is not doing enough to help their home country.

Fatuma Mahamed one of the protest organizers, says, "It's not right for a person to walk bloodshed all over the street. Hopefully we will work together and protest until we get peace in Somalia."

Ayan Hasan says, "I think Americans need to do something about Somalia instead of Iraq, because we are human beings and we're being killed for no reason."

These late surges of violence have Pope Benedict XVI calling for peace in Somalia.
