Somali extremists welcome Bin Ladin’s call for ousting of new gov’t

Mogadishu, Somalia (APA) - Somali extremists in southern Somalia on Sunday welcomed the recent announcement by Osama Bin Ladin for the uprooting of the month and a half old government in Somalia, according to a spokesman of the Islamic administration in Kismayo in Lower Jubba region.

“This is a holy message to Islamic fighters in Somalia. It is a clear and welcomed message,” Sheikh Hassan Yacquub, the spokesman of the Islamic administration in Kismayo said during a press conference held in Kismayo on Sunday.

The statement by Sheikh Yacqub comes after the Al-Qaeda leader called on Islamist warriors to overthrow the newly elected Somali president, Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed.

Somalia, which has not had a functioning central government since 1991, when Somali war lords ousted the country’s former regime of Mohamed Siad Barre, is recently making some improvement towards the right path of peace.

Late in January, Somali law markers elected Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, a former geography teacher and head of the main group of the opposition as the country’s new president.

Correct me if I'm wrong:

Sheikh Ahmed Sheikh Sharif demanded two things during the negotiation a few months ago.

1. The withdrawal of Ethiopian troops.
2. The implementation of Islamic law.

I am not worried about what the Osama's of this World who is hiding in caves call for because it doesn't matter as long as they sing from Tor-bora. What worries me the most is the so-called Somali sheikhs who never show any mercy for the millions of Somali women & children who are starving in every region and are so desperate they have to flee to Ethiopia of all places. If Osama was serious, he should come out of the cave and seek martyrdom.........blow himself up in front of a tank. Have you ever seen Osama speaking out against our 20 year old civil war, our starving people, our piracy, our secessionists, our war lords, and many other anti-Islamic activities we mastered since 1991 or even before. Osama's activities is denounced by highly respected Islamic scholars across the Globe if that matters to any illiterate Al-somethings. The only time Al-qaida cared about Somalia was when UNISOM came in 1993 and when AMISOM came in 2007, they were absent the rest of our dying years! May be they didn't think the 17 years of war lord hell was against Islam. Addunyooy xaalkaa ba'a.

The point here was not who have say in Somali affairs. Because we know there is no ending sight of that argument. The question is, is what this guy asked us ISLAMIC? I believe it is not consistent with the KORAN OR SUNNAH. He basically said continue killing each other to two Muslims, instead of stop killing each other and reach reconciliation through dialogue (SHUURA). He knows this is not Islamic way, but he likes he political agenda more than Somalia.
