UIC Forces Takes Over Bases Vacated by Ethiopian Troops

Mogadishu, Somalia (HOL) - The Union of Islamic Courts (UIC) in Somalia has taken over bases vacated by Ethiopian troops in Mogadishu.

Spokesman for the Union Mr. Abdirahiim Ise Adow who spoke with reporters inside Mogadishu’s main soccer stadium said that from today the stadium will be a place where the young play soccer and not a military base as it has been in the last two years.

Mr. Addow added that the Mujahideen (resistance forces) are not competing with one another for control of the city and are jointly stationed in the stadium.

Sheik Yusuf Mohamed Siyad (Indhade) who is a member of the Islamist faction led by Dr. Omar Iimaan Abuubakar also spoke at the stadium and said the reason for his presence in the stadium is that the blood of the Mujahidiin has been shed in the efforts to liberate the stadium and that resistance forces took control of the stadium in unity. Sheik Yusuf added that they will not allow anything short of the implementation of the Sharia and called on the Somali people to repent and follow the teachings of the Qur’an and the traditions of Prophet Mohamed (PBUH).

UIC forces also took control of the Guulwadayaasha (National Guards) base after which brief exchange of fire took place between Ethiopian forces stationed at the Ministry of Defence headquarter located not far from the base the UIC forces took control of.

Additional information: Ethiopian troops have also vacated the Spaghetti Factory in Heyla Bariise.

What do SL and PL have that make them a democracy? So many baseless sheeko xariir have been thrown at here. Collecting bunch of boys that nobody elected and then designated them as a 'parliament', is that a democracy as it is in the case in PL or asking people to vote because 'recognition' is on the horizon as it is the case in SL and when they voted declaring that 97% voted for one guy and the other guy got 3%, is that a democracy. C'mon guys - you are really insulting people's intelligence.

The only thing that makes these two regions 'stable' is that they are both subservient to Ethios. Neither one of these entities can make a move that displeases Melez. At least, South and Central Somalia, Somalis chose to have their heads up instead of bowing to Ethios.

Russians said: France cannot geography and Germans cannot history. They mean Napoleon Bonaparte attacks Russia in winter, he send a million strong men, there was a few hundred who return home. Germans did the same mistake and face even more worst then France in 18 century. What Russians mean was, if France read geography they will not attack fast Russia in winter and if Germans read history they learn that lesson and never attack fast Russia in winter, they both lose.

If you know what you are talking about, you will know in the history there is no where Gar Jucuf and his narrow minded ideology save a hard proven population in to prosperity. You must understand it is the knowledge and know how which can save this nation, ask yourself what these people has in their disposal to make deferent, nothing they are Juhalaa . Do not miss understand me that I am against the rule of religion, but the leader who can rule in the name of religion is not born yet. Believe me this is true, for the moment the only think which can work is western democracy or closely Somali democracy. You know people chooses their leader, it begins primitively in Puntland and Somaliland

I know all of that..He must be stopped. Men like him are the core of what went wrong with Somalia. I hope he gets no part of peace process which is sole salvation of Somali nation from the abyss of anarchy. My hope is that he soon be sharing jail cell with his ex brother of Biliqyesi Max’ed DHeere

Sheikh indhacade is washed up ex-warlord turned Islamist, who wanted and still desire to use that cover of DIIN to hold his ill gotten wealth(BILIQO). But, it won't work this time. His chief protector is stuck in Asmara criticizing the Djibouti peace deal. He is a coward who was missing since the days of invasion, to just showed up for the celebration of victory. People can smell AFMIINSHAAR from 100 Km, that's who is.
