Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (APA) - Ethiopia has sacked the president of the Somali regional state, which is one of the country’s nine regional states bordering Somalia, APA learns here Sunday.
Abdulahi Hassen was fired by the regional governing party (Somali People’s Democratic Party) after it held an evaluation forum on regional good governance and development activities.
The sacking of the president comes on the heels of the recent explosion in the regional state capital of Jijiga where four people were killed while another ten sustained serious injuries.
According to Ethiopian state television, the regional president was fired from his post for failing to undertake what the people of the region needed in terms of good governance, development and fighting insurgents in the region.
President Hassen himself was injured in an explosion two years ago by insurgents, which the government claims to have been carried out by the rebel Ogaden National Liberation Front (ONLF).
Since the ONLF killed 65 Ethiopians and nine Chinese oil workers last April, the government has undertaken a crack down against the movement, which claims to be fighting for the secession of the Somali region of Ethiopia.
The Somali region, one of the nine regional states of Ethiopia, is inhabited mainly by ethnic Somalis, which is also bordering Somalia.
The regional president was on his post for the past four years, so far no one has been appointed to replace him.

The puppet was fired because he fell to do what he was ordered to do to fight and eliminate ONLF. He couldn’t because ONLF is too powerful to defeat by this puppet so called kilal gov or Ethio regime. Next puppet please. Bring it on.

This information doesn't concern us(Somalia), it is Ethiopian local politics(& its citizens who wrote the below comments) and they can sack or appoint whoever they want. That is my take on this issue.

This uraag has never been one for the people of ogaden , on the contrary he rejoiced the killings of innocent villagers and the death of countless children and women who were starved to death during the food-blockade and he has the cheek to say that there was famine in the region. Now that he had lost his illegal position , he is prone to a quick and painful excution by the daring brave boys of the ONLF and his days are numbered. Mark my word , he can run but he can't hide !

When his useful Years were over they threw him like the old dog that he is. The four presidents who proceeded him met the same fate..... jail or death. Only last Month he was saying there is no famine in Ogaden & Ethiopia is the best Democracy in Africa. He also talked in detail about the development projects carried out by the Zenawe regime in Ogaden which according to him included hundreds of Schools & manufacturing enterprises. We know he is a diabolical liar & Ethiopia is not engaged in any development of Ogadenia but a man made famine & indiscriminate killing & mass arrests of women, children, elderly, & anybody with education. The four so-called presidents of Ethiopian created Somali parcels (Yeey, Lug-buur, Cade, & Riyale) could be sacked by Zenawe with no questions asked or better yet eliminated with a single silver bullet. Zenawe should entertain us by reshuffling his stooges, Yeey to Hargeysa, Riyale to Puntland, Lug-Buur to Mogadishu, Cade to Jigjiga. Any body who refuses that certain suicide will go to Alam-baqe, a jail Yeey is familiar with.

He was the worst man to have ever occupied that position.
I hope that he is thrown into one of their dungeons in Addis like they did to other traitors when they became expendable.
I can not say this is good news though. His replacement will be far worst than him as he will attempt to outsmart Lugbuur and exceed him in terms of crue’lty and barbarity in his attempt to please the Tigrayan masters at the expense of our suffering population.
I will never forget that picture of Lugbuur, boasting and laughing wildly and denying the obvious –the mass starvation, ra’pe and destruction of Ogaden populace by the Tigray Junta -while been quizzed by journalist from channel 4 of Britain.
He had the audacity to stand in front of camera and deny that his people where starved to death and forced to eat grass in order to survive. He shall now test his own medicine.
I really like the way he’s pushed to his sword…
