MOGADISHU (AFP) — Insurgents attacked a Somali regional police chief's residence, killing his daughter and two bodyguards, witnesses said Tuesday.
They said the residence of Aden Hashi Gabo, the police chief of the provincial town of Baidoa, about 250 miles (150 kilometres) northwest of the capital Mogadishu, came under attack on Monday.
"The insurgents fired machineguns and grenades into his house, killing his daughter and two bodyguards," said Hassan Sheikh Mumin, a resident.
Another neighbour Hussein Ali said fighting raged for about an hour until policemen were sent to reinforce security.
Islamist militants have waged an insurgency mainly in Mogadishu since they were defeated by Ethiopian and Somali forces early this year, ending their brief rule in the country's southern and central regions.
The deadly insurgency has forced hundreds of thousands of people to leave Mogadishu in recent months, according to the United Nations, prompting warnings of an unprecedented humanitarian disaster.
Aid groups have said that insecurity is choking off efforts to deliver humanitarian supplies to those affected.
Numerous bids to restore stability to the Horn of Africa nation since dictator Mohamed Siad Barre was ousted in 1991 have failed because of clan warfare and unrest.

I just said what munaafiqiin do. You can correct me if you think I'm wrong. They do and say alot things. Like itis not the right time to follow sharia law blah blah because the kuffars dont want us to do that. Who cares the kuffars? They allready disobey their creator and they want us to be like them. "Munaafiq" is the disbeliever who claims to be a Muslim by the tongue but denies Islam at heart. Also, describing a Muslim as Muslim and a Kaafir (infidel, disbeliever) as Kaafir is one of the fundamentals of Islam. Can anybody proof these inner human souls? I don’t think so, only Allah (swt) is capable of such readings, we can only be “obedient and submit” ourselves!
Please learn Islam before committing more sins as such claiming to be knowledgeable of the Holy Quran and yet be subjective to be the prosecutor, the judge and the executioner at the same time! Perhaps, none of these issues apply to what happened to this family whom cowards have slaughtered their children.

When they helping the kufaars killing innocent people, using the masjids as a toilet using the quraan as toilet paper itis ok for them , but when something like this happend, they always say itis un islamic. That is sign of munaafiqiin. I feel sorry for the girl, but I dont feel sorry those traitors and they deserve to die.
When muslims fight with the kuffars, they always say we canot fight with those powerfull army and they gona kill us all, but when muslims win, they say we were with you guys and we knew we gona win. You´re contradicting your self.
First, by saying that Aden Hashi Gabo "will not be forgotten.." This implies that Mr. Gabo is dead while he is not. Instead it’s his family members that died.
Secondly, your assertion that he, Mr. Gabo and traitors like him are heroes and "patriots" is both a white lie and treacherous.
Finally, if we are going to ´name schools after´ any one, it will be the freedom fighters, not traitors.

Only the expulsion of foreign troops and peaceful negation can bring end to this madness; We Somalis are hard headed people "MADAX ADEEGA AA NAGA BATAY" especially "IL-JEEX" sub clan. If only the TFG would had used their brains instead of relying some body else big guns.
